They add to the story because they explain more about what the page is saying. I think that it wouldn't because the illustrations capture what the page is saying as much as needed. Signed, Alex
They add to the story a lot. How? Well when the book said the mercury jumped out of the thermometer it actually did. Or when they said that the fresh baked bread rolled over chickens it did. Sincerely, Hannah
Well, I think that the illustration really explained everything that the author was trying to say. And if people didn't understand what was happening, they could just look on the picture and see what it was trying to say. So, No I don't think that other illustrations would work for this picture!!
They add to the story because The illustrations tell a lot of the story and shows what the author is talking about. I think that it wouldn't because the illustrations capture what the page is saying as much as needed. Signed, Destiny
I think that the illustration really fitted with the words. The pictures explain what's happening so you don't have to read it. Also no I don't think that other illustrations for the story.
I think it adds to the story because you can kinda see what the other is thinking. Also you can see what the other means you can see what he wont's you to see. That is how it adds.

This is how I would explain how the illustrations in the story. They helped you know what was happening in the story. If it was a different style of illustrations it still might help.
The pictures add to the story by showing how something is happening. Like when the dog turned blue the story had a picture of the blue dog. Or when they had to hold on to the tree trunk.
Currently I teach 4th grade, I am the mother of 2 kids: my hero, a son who served 2 tours of duty in Iraq as a U.S. Marine and a awesome daughter in middle school.
