Gloria's father had multiple Sclerosis and didn't know who anyone was anymore. Also Americans didn't like that Cubans were coming to America for refuge from the war.
I think that she had problems with her because...... She had to help her dad. Also she was in a band all the time. But she kept her promise to her mom and she finished her college. Then she made a lead siger in Elilio's band. Then they changed her band name.
I think that one challenge that they faced was her dad had multiple Sclerosis. Also The Americans didn't like that the Cubans were coming to America for refuge. And the last thing is that Gloria's dad was at war, which left the girls and their mom alone. I think that it was not right to treat Cubans badly just because they wanted to be safe and stay away from war.
Gloria's dad was in the war and then he had a very bad illness. Also her dad was a prisoner in Cuba. They also had to get Gloria to go through collage before she could be part of the band.
Currently I teach 4th grade, I am the mother of 2 kids: my hero, a son who served 2 tours of duty in Iraq as a U.S. Marine and a awesome daughter in middle school.
